How to download audio from a website
Updated 28 October 2026 · 3-minute read
A podcast episode, an interview, a language lesson: the audio is playing on the page, but there's no download link. Here's how to keep it.
The one-click way
- Press play on the audio, so the page loads it.
- Click the Vidtuck icon. Audio files show up in the list next to any videos: MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus, FLAC and WAV.
- Hit Download. The file lands in your Downloads folder.
The manual way
Open developer tools (F12) → Network → filter by Media, then play the audio. The audio file appears as a request; open it in a new tab and save it.
Only want the audio from a video?
Download the video, then pull the soundtrack out with ffmpeg without re-encoding:
ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -vn -c:a copy audio.m4a
-vn drops the video; -c:a copy keeps the original audio untouched. For an MP3 instead: ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -vn -c:a libmp3lame -q:a 2 audio.mp3.
Before you save
Many podcasts offer free downloads in their own app or RSS feed: use those when they exist. Music on streaming services is DRM-protected and can't be saved. Keep what you have the right to keep. (The rules, in plain English.)
