The short version
The Vidtuck extension collects no data. None. Everything it does happens locally inside your browser.
This website (vidtuck.com) uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked first; everyone can switch them off with Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Details below.
The extension
Vidtuck detects video and audio content on the pages you visit and, when you click Download, saves it to your Downloads folder. To do this it observes the content type and size of responses loaded by the page and reads the sources of media elements on the page. That processing happens entirely on your device.
Vidtuck has no servers, no analytics, no telemetry, no error reporting and no accounts. Your browsing activity, the media you download, and anything else about you never leaves your browser.
The list of media detected in each tab and the progress of your downloads are kept in the browser's session storage so the extension keeps working if its background process restarts. This data stays on your device and is cleared automatically when you close the browser or navigate the tab.
Premium licenses
If you buy Premium, the purchase is processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, under their privacy policy — we never see your payment details. When you activate a license key, the extension sends only that key to the license server to confirm it is valid. No browsing data accompanies it.
This website
This section is about vidtuck.com only. It doesn't change anything above: the extension still collects nothing.
Analytics. The site uses two tools to understand which pages help people:
- Google Analytics 4 (by Google) counts visits and shows which pages and links people use.
- Microsoft Clarity (by Microsoft) shows how pages are used, through clicks, scrolling and session recordings of page interactions, so we can fix confusing pages.
If you're in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland: a banner asks first, and neither tool loads unless you click Accept. If you click Decline, or never choose, nothing is collected.
Everywhere else: the tools load when you visit, and you can turn them off at any time with Cookie settings.
We tell these apart using your device's time zone setting, not a location lookup. If the time zone can't be read, we ask first.
What they collect when enabled: pages viewed, the site that sent you here, browser and device type, approximate location (derived from your IP address), and how you interact with the page. Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_*; Clarity may set cookies such as _clck and _clsk. We don't use the advertising features of either tool, we signal "no" to ad storage for both, and we don't sell or share this data. Google and Microsoft process it under their own terms: Google's privacy policy · Microsoft's privacy statement.
Turning analytics off: use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page and choose Decline. That deletes the analytics cookies from your browser and stops both tools on every later visit.
Hosting: the site is hosted on Vercel, whose infrastructure may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) to operate the service.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with a revised date. Since the extension collects nothing, there is little to change.
